Editorial Policy

Articles are researched, written and checked by the MedicalMalpracticeTurkey Editorial Team.

Every article goes through the same steps:

• Research. We gather the primary material first: Turkish law and regulation, official guidance from government bodies and national medical regulators, data from international bodies, and peer-reviewed research.
• Drafting. The article is written from that research, in plain language, for someone dealing with the situation.
• Review. A second pass checks the structure, the reasoning and the wording, including that nothing reads as a promise, a guarantee, or advice on an individual case.
• Fact-check. Each factual claim is checked back against the source it came from. A claim we cannot trace to an acceptable source is cut.
• Publication. The article goes live with its sources listed and linked at the foot of the page, and with the date it was last reviewed.

Every factual claim on this site rests on a source, and sources fall into three tiers.

Tier 1, used by default. Government and state bodies, national statistics offices, ministries and courts, national medical regulators, international bodies such as the WHO and the OECD, and peer-reviewed research.

Tier 2, allowed but labelled. Reputable journalism and recognised reference works, and market research that publishes its method. These are secondary or commercially motivated, so we label them as estimates and no claim rests on them alone.

Banned outright. Clinic marketing, booking platforms and price aggregators, treatment-comparison sites, and SEO content published by providers who sell the procedure. If a source profits from the number it is quoting, it is not a source. Where only banned sources exist for a claim, the claim is left out.

We do not cite or link law firms competing in this space.

Every source behind an article is listed and linked at the foot of it.

Each article carries a “last reviewed” date. It changes only when the article has been revisited: sources rechecked at the original, figures updated, anything out of date corrected or removed.

We revisit an article when the law or official guidance changes, when a source publishes newer figures, and on a rolling basis regardless.

If something on this site is wrong, please tell us. Email contact@medicalmalpracticeturkey.com with the page and what you believe is incorrect.

We check the claim against the sources it came from. If it is wrong, we correct or remove it, and the page’s last reviewed date moves with the change. If the source itself turns out to be unreliable, we replace it and recheck anything else that relied on it. A claim we cannot verify either way is removed.
